Kimberly family reunification
Remember the story of Kimberly?
After all the stress and problems that Kimberly went through getting her visa and thanks to SOL she is still here in Finland, happy with her job and feeling very lucky about all the help that SOL has provided her.
But the story does not end here, now a new stage begins.
As we know Kimberly came to Finland alone, but she is also a wife and a mother. In the Philippines lives her husband and her 5-year-old son. She hasn’t been able to seen them in a long time.
Sometimes I get a little depressed, but then I remember how lucky I`m to have gone through all the problems with SOL`s help, because if it hadn’t been for SOL I would already be in the Philippines. – says Kimberly
Kimberly decided a while ago that she wanted to bring her family to be together, so she decided to talk to her supervisors about her work shift. She needed to be on the night shift so she could take another full-time job in the mornings, to be able to prove to immigration that she had enough income to be able to support her family.
-When I told my supervisor Sari that I needed to get another job to bring my family to Finland, she saw that I needed help and offered me a better solution by helping me to bring my family to Finland and give my husband a job at SOL. Then I wouldn’t have to work 16 hours a day. We also talked about the shift schedules so we could take care of our son while we work, Kimberly says happily.
-This is my last week of work and then I will go to visit my family in the Philippines. After few weeks we will all come back together thanks to SOL. Kimberly says with relief in her voice.
For everyone in SOL
“What I would like to say to everyone is that I’m very grateful for accepting me for who I´m and helping me become who I’m. They gave me the wings I needed to go for by myself and express my deepest gratitude to every single person in the company, because working here has been the best thing I have ever done in my life.”
